Can’t believe we are only 10 days out from our 2nd annual GovLoop/YGL Next Generation of Government Summit.
Behind the scene, we’ve been cranking away on everything from brainstorming an awesome ideation game with IDEO, coordinating our Funniest Fed comedic performance, studying which bean bag chairs to bring in, getting written up in Governing magazine, finalizing keynote speakers like Dan Forrester, author of Consider (which I have picked as the next Daniel Pink “Drive”), picking awesome music to play on turntable.fm, and coordinating our awesome panels (the planning calls have been great – speakers have the best stories on the travails of being a next gen leader).
With 10 Days left, I wanted to make sure folks of our last chance to register, win, and volunteer:
1) Register – There are literally hundreds of folks already registered from OPM to DOD to GSA (check it out at nextgengovt.eventbrite.com) – but there’s still time to register and as a Govlooper use code “Loopedin2011” to save $55 off. Having problems convincing the boss to go? No fear, I wrote a template to getting the boss’ approval
2) Win – I love contests. Who doesn’t. Our government haiku contest had over 36 great submissions, so we thought we’d do one last contest and have a lot of fun. So give an answer to the question – “Describe in 7 words or less why you become a govie and you could win a free tix. Contest ends this Wednesday.
3) Volunteering – We have a limited number of volunteering slots left available at Next Generation of Gov’t. Sign up to be a volunteer, work a limited task (like watch the front desk, be a blogger) and get a free pass. Since there are a only a few slots, we are trying to hold the volunteers slots for those who really can’t afford to go so please ask your supervisors to register first. Interested? Send an email to megan@govloop.com
P.S. Who loves this image done by our awesome designer Jeff?
