Pandemic tracking, emergency response and public communications are just a fraction of the government operations that must run smoothly during this time.
Add to that list inter-agency and private sector collaboration, continuity of critical services, and distribution and management of social, financial and economic recovery operations. There are few words to adequately describe this massive.
All of these efforts require an elevated ability to manage hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of data points. Government organizations have to derive actionable insights from that data to understand what is happening. 1. Track pandemic surveillance with predictive and geospatial analytics.
Why it matters: Aggregating, transforming and reporting on data is mission-critical to deploying a rapid response for containment of a pandemic outbreak.
2. Manage the disrupted financial landscape.
Why it matters: Government tax and finance agencies will need to quickly analyze and forecast financial projections. That will involve taking in multiple sources of new information to more accurately predict and project short- and long-term impacts on communities, businesses and agencies.
3. Scale to handle the influx of requests for support and recovery services.
Why it matters: The road to recovery from COVID-19 is going to be paved in paperwork and forms. Medicaid, unemployment, Small Business Administration, community block grants, welfare, housing and others that support families, employees and business recovery will need capabilities to support the high volume of requests.
4. Verify the availability of critical services and identify gaps.
