Today is Equal Pay Day, defined by the federal government as “the date in the current year that represents the extra days a typical woman working full-time would have to work just to make the same as a typical man did in the previous year.”
It’s meant to bring attention to the fact that women are paid less than men. But that fact begs more than a few questions: How large is the pay gap? Why does it exist, and what can we do to fix it?
