Regardless of your personality, aptitudes, and preferences, when faced with a new project that looks daunting just remember – the outcome is worth all of the effort you are about to expend. Don’t look at the difficulty, but instead look at the journey ahead and enjoy the climb!
You don’t have to be in a formal leadership role to be a leader, because leadership is not an assignment so much as it is a state of mind and a practice.
We have to be willing to learn, to grow, to keep moving forward as individual contributors. If you have an idea be bold, present your idea and ask about implementing on a small scale. Start building a practice of learning and watch what happens around you.
What could you accomplish if you approached each new challenge as an opportunity for growth?
We all want to be our best selves at work but that doesn’t mean we have to give up the things that make each us unique.
My experiences have taught me that sometimes teamwork doesn’t quite make the dream work but if teammates are willing to work on that whole teamwork thing, anything is possible.
