“Formula for success: rise early, work hard, strike oil.” – J. Paul Getty
According to an Inc. Magazine article, morning people have been found to be more proactive and more productive than their counterparts. Because of this, they tend to do well in business and in life.
- Eat a healthy breakfast
As federal employees our days are busy. In order to perform at your peak, be sure to fuel your mind and body for the tasks ahead with a balanced healthy breakfast.
- Plan out your day
The morning is a good time for this because it’s often one of the only quiet times during your busy day. If you can map out what you have to do, you will more likely get everything done. I like to use lists. I write down what I have to do and then cross off each one after I complete the task. Try it.
- Exercise
For me, getting up early and exercising is the best way to get my day started. Studies show that most people who do work out do so in the morning. It gives you a boost of energy and after you’re done, you get a good feeling of accomplishment.
