For years, the Taxi Cab business has had a monopoly it seems on the transportation business. If you needed to get somewhere quick and didn’t have time to rent a car or you didn’t have time to wait for a bus, the taxi was the next best thing.

Enter Lyft, Uber and Sidecar.

Lyft is a peer-to-peer ridesharing app that enables people to use their cars like taxi cabs. Simply go to the App store, download the app, input your credit card information and request a ride from wherever you are.
Within minutes a Lyft driver will be there to pick you up and drop you off at your destination. But the cool thing is that you can not only use this service when you need it, but you can also become a driver for Lyft and earn up to $800 or more per week. I tested it out by becoming a driver and it is absolutely true. Depending on how much you want to drive, you can make as much money as you want.

Uber is another ridesharing platform much like Lyft. You simply do the same thing, download the app, enter your credit card information and request a ride. The beautiful part about these platforms is that you never have to worry about carrying cash with you because money never exchanges hands. All payments are made through the app. Even if you want to give a tip, you do that through the app as well.
What’s really awesome is that as soon as you are dropped off at your location, you are able to rate the driver on how he or she drove. And then you are immediately given the cost of the ride.
