Department of the Interior sent out a message announcing the reopened Statue of Liberty for Independence Day last year to increase visitors to this national monument—tying a mission-centered announcement to the holiday to help it gain traction. The Ready Campaign within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)also sent a timely update today with preparedness tips on everything from fireworks safety to protecting your skin in the sun to grilling safety. The message highlights a #July4thSafety Twitter hashtag, and at the end of the message, they encourage you to join the National Preparedness Community.
