We are trying to come up with a simple database/spreadsheet for tracking ATV permits for those with disabilities. I was hoping someone out there may have something already…..

Lisa: Great question. Does the information need to be available to the public or just to people internally? How many people need to be able to read and edit it and how many records / permits are there. I just saw some cool technology that might be able to help with this, but it depends on how you answer these questions.

Hi Scott,

This will be for internal tracking only. I would say about 6 to 10 folks need to be able to edit the document. Last year we issued about 750 permits.

I think I’m probably going down the wrong path.

I was going to recommend you check out http://www.socrata.com .
You can share a spreadsheet internally that way, I believe, though Socrata shines more when you’re trying to share information publicly.

Hopefully, someone else can jump in with a solution that fits more clearly.
