AFGE National President John Gage conducted a press conference Feb. 15 at AFGE headquarters to denounce efforts to pay for an extension in unemployment benefits by cutting retirement benefits of federal employees.
Joining him for the press conference was National Treasury Employees Union National President Colleen Kelley. The presidents of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the American Postal Workers Union also signaled their support for efforts to fight the proposed cuts in federal retirement benefits.
