AFGE is issuing two manuals that are ‘must reads’ for anyone engaged in bargaining. Produced by the Field Services & Education Department, the Collective Bargaining Manual walks the reader through the basics of federal sector bargaining. It is useful whether you have never bargained or if you have bargained for years. There are insights covering many areas, ranging from working with your bargaining team to tactics at the table. The other manual is the Contract Campaign Manual which takes the reader through the nuts and bolts of mobiilzing your membership around your negotiations. This manual also has a value beyond bargaining because the ideas regarding campaigns apply in any situation where we have to utilize real pressure to building power for federal workers.
