Glad to see you’re diving in – which are your favorites?
I’d probably pick Mobilizing Generation 2.0. It has treatments of the major web 2.0 technologies as well as specific suggestions for using the strengths of each.
But there is one line from Outliers that sticks in my head. The author is talking about the work that people do and he talks about the need for meaningful work. Everyone needs to know that their work has meaning. Sometimes it is hard to find meaning in sitting in a cubicle auditing a web page for compliance to federal standards. But then I find meaning in exploring web and social media to build up the volunteer program that my wife runs. My web knowledge and experience can be applied in a way that I can find meaning. 🙂
