CARIBOU COFFEE MEETINGS BACK IN THE NEWS. The Hill. “House Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee raised concerns at a Tuesday hearing that White House staffers hold meetings at a nearby Caribou Coffee to avoid disclosure requirements.” More on yesterday’s hearing here. HUNTSMAN UPDATE. Roll Call. “Having returned to the United States just four days ago after resigning as the Obama administration’s ambassador to China, Huntsman filed paperwork Tuesday to form H PAC, which will allow the former Utah governor to travel and begin raising money for the 2012 presidential contest.”

SANTORUM UPDATE. The Hill. “Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) has officially formed a presidential exploratory committee, allowing him to participate in Thursday’s presidential debate in South Carolina.”

Story here. “GOP lawmakers are seeking to create a newly empowered Ethics Commission, which would take over high-profile campaign finance investigations of the sort that centered on former Gov. Mike Easley and former House Speaker Jim Black. Previously such investigations had been handled by the State Board of Elections.”
