City hall of Fortaleza – First Place of the Northeast in Technology of the Information

The City hall of Fortaleza, through the manager of nets of the Legislative, Francisco Cavalcante, reached the third place in the Country, in the category Government, in IT Leaders 2009, granted in the Thursday night, 17, in São Paulo. The president, alderman Salmito Filho, participated in the event that is accomplished annually by Computerworld in partnership with IDC (International Dates Corporation).

Of the winning 100, the Camera was in first place of the Northeast; in as it was the Legislative Assembly of Bahia; the third were the Grupo J. Macedo and in fourth place of NE Prodeb of Bahia.

In the category Government, the Camera of Fortaleza it disputed the prize with other four finalists: Tribunal of the Work of Porto Alegre, Legislative Assembly of Bahia, with the Federal Government, through the Mail and with the data processing of Bahia – Prodeb.

The indication of the Camera for the category Government if it owes to the development and maintenance of the site www.cmfor.ce.gov.br.

In the air since 1997, the site of the Camera is pioneering in Administration of Electronic Documentation (GED). Second Francisco Cavalcante, responsible for the section of computer science of the Camera (or Chief Information Officer–RUT, in the nomenclature of the area), the site shows documents that date since 1948, as laws, ordinances and resolutions.

Besides, the legislative matters that process at the House they are daily updated. “We tried to create more communication between the Legislative Power and the society. The indication for the prize is a consequence of that effort”, Cavalcante said. The portal is also pioneering in the transmission live of the plenary sessions.

IT Leaders, according to Cavalcante, is known as Oscar of the internet. The prize is granted annually by the magazine ComputerWorld.
