Chief Operating Officer of leading online job board for security-cleared professionals to ride along with other bike ride participants to raise funds and awareness for Wounded EOD Warriors and their families
[ September 21, 2010, 2009 ] Falls Church, VA – ClearedJobs.Net, a veteran-owned job board company exclusively serving the security cleared community, is once again sponsoring the Wounded Explosive Ordnance Disposal Warrior Foundation’s (WEODWF) Undefeated 2-Day Bike Ride scheduled for October 8-10, 2010 in Southern California.
This year’s ride will have an increase of participants of 68, up from the inaugural 37. Of these, 36 are active EOD technicians accompanied by additional riders from all branches of the military. The group raised over $80,000 last year and has increased its goal to $150,000 this year. The two day ride will be nearly 160 miles along Southern California’s coast- from Santa Monica to Liberty Station, San Diego.
The bike ride will help raise funds to support U.S. Wounded EOD Warriors and
their families. All proceeds will go to the WEODWF (www.woundedeodwarrior.org)
which funds and supports military EOD families caring for their loved ones at
military medical facilities across the country.
“The resources provided to these families are above and beyond the budgetary constraints of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs,” says John Nixon, Chief Operating Officer for ClearedJobs.Net and a riding participant of this year’s event. “Our company is a longstanding supporter of numerous US military-related initiatives,” adds Nixon. “We are immensely proud to support the WEODWF cause and help the organization to raise awareness and proceeds for Wounded EOD Warriors and their families.”

“The desire for this event is to bring recognition to both the sacrifices of our EOD heroes throughout the services, and of the foundation that is dedicated to providing much needed financial support to the warriors and their families, as well as to establish a positive link between this dedicated group of individuals and their communities,” says Kevin Childre, LCDR, Executive Officer, EOD Training and Evaluation Unit ONE, U.S. Navy EOD. “This event provides an opportunity for the community to support our brave and dedicated warriors for their sacrifices. Every freedom that we all enjoy comes through the blood and the sacrifice of our Wounded Warriors!”
