Web 2.0 finds its payday (12/10/2010) – McKinsey survey of 3,249 executives finds companies using the Web intensively gain greater market share and higher margins. Generations 2010 (12/16/2010) – Major trends are found in how different generations of Americans use the Internet. Biggest trend is that certain key internet uses are becoming uniformly popular across all age groups. Twitter penetration hits 8% in US (12/2010) – PEW survey finds 8% of American adults who use the internet are Twitter users. Groups with relatively high levels of Twitter use include young adults, Latinos and urbanites.

Open Gov Data Benchmarking Study (12/15/2010) – Socrata study focuses on the current state of Open Data Initiatives in federal, state and local governments including implementation progress, general attitudes, motivators and obstacles. S Strong support for Open Data among citizens and public employees was found.

Social Networking Across the Globe (12/15/2010) – PEW survey finds 46% of those surveyed in the U.S. use social networking. Poland, Britain and South Korea close behind. Making Collaboration Work (11/2010) – Forrester report finds 64% of those who use social networking tools in business use them more than last year. Video chat, team document-sharing sites and web conferencing also experienced significant increases in usage.
