Purpose: The purpose of the HOST Government Open Source Software Policy Training Seminar is to provide information on existing government guidance and adoption strategies for Federal Government acquisition, procurement, adoption and management of open source software resources.
Seminar Objectives:
- Identify and explain existing government open source software policy and guidance decisions
- Review HOST-sponsored Best Practices and Lessons Learned study regarding open source adoption within government environments
- Review examples of government regulation (FAR/DFAR) that impact adoption decisions for open source software
Identify available open source software resources available to government adopters
Attendees: Government and private sector representatives are welcomed
