Following is the information regarding this upcoming conference and a call for presenters to submit topics:
The University of New Orleans Center for Hazards Assessment, Response & Technology (UNO-CHART) is hosting a Disaster Resistant University Workshop on its main campus in New Orleans, LA. This conference will allow members of the higher education community to engage and share ideas related to mitigation and disaster resilience.
Potential topics could include: mitigation planning and success stories, safe rooms, universities as shelters, university community partnerships, sustainable building practices, student evacuation preparations, or related topics.
If you are interested in presenting, submit your proposal by November 2, 2012.
Everyone wishing to present at the DRU Workshop must submit an abstract describing the material to be presented and its relevance to the workshop theme. Session rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector, screen, and presentation clicker. Each selected presenter will be notified by December 3rd, 2012 via email and must plan to register for the workshop.
