The Presidential Innovation Fellows program was started by the White House last year. It kicked off a set of ambitious projects from reshaping small RFPs to improving citizen access to government services. Personally, I regret not applying for the first round, so I encourage anyone to at least review the materials and consider applying.
The general idea of the program is to apply Lean Startup principles in the federal government. I could explain it, but US CTO Todd Park does a far better job. If you have 20 minutes to spare, I highly recommend the video!
