The American pioneer spirit that everyone can do their own thing forgets that we are by nature social creatures. As Joe Cross of the Pat Benatar Fan clu writes “The best things in life are not things.” Nor should the best times be spent alone but shared.
Sugar is sweet but is hard to take on its own – all by itself. Who drinks a glass of plain sugar or eats a bowl of sugar?
Here too social media is better when paired with events or when its part of something. They call this a force multiplyer. Yes there are people out there already but add some communication and social media to see the crowed grow. The wold can tune in and watch.
The National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse! (http://www.fatherhood.gov/index.cfm) opened just in time for fathers day. Turns out these guys are kinda important. They are even nice and helpful to have around.
Why? listen to Cats in the cradle – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7t9hISDnMw Yea even the re-make is good.
While social media is sweet it does not stand on its own. Add it to your next event, disaster or holiday as a force multiplier. For we are social creatures who like to hang out together able to be pioneers but never having to go it alone. We can all be part of something and have an impact.
Happy Fathers day

Allen
