Tom Temin and Amy Morris, two of our anchors at Federal News Radio, completed the Marine Corps Marathon this weekend. Both were a little sore this morning but they survived!
We’ve got some great video of Amy during and after the marathon.
Both Amy and Tom have also written columns on their experience.
Tom Temin
Yesterday’s Marine Corps Marathon was my first marathon in two and a half years, my 12th career. Since running the Boston Marathon back in April 2007, I’ve changed careers and, well, gained a pound or two and generally had trouble keeping up with what had been a fairly rigorous health and fitness regime. But with Federal News Radio and WTOP being media sponsors of the MCM, a free entry came my way, so I decided to see if I still had another marathon in me. Click here to read the entire column.

I’m happy to report that I’m barely able to move my arms to write this column. But I’m moving them. I have to keep flexing my feet and calves to keep the cramps away. But I’m flexing them. I ache in areas of my body I wasn’t aware were even there. But I feel the ache! My toes are bruised and bloody. My body aches from neck to toes. I’m sunburned, and I’m still fighting the dregs of one nasty headcold. Thanks to the support of friends, family, and complete strangers, I have my medal. Click here to read the entire column.
