“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale D. Walsch
The only time you are actually growing is when you are uncomfortable.
If you want to get paid more and promoted faster, you’d better get comfortable with being uncomfortable. You only get out of life what you put into it. If you want to learn a new software for your company, you have to be willing to suffer the uncomfortable part of not knowing how it works for a while until you master it. But eventually you get it. It was uncomfortable at first, but now you can count it as an asset. You’ve just improved your KSA’s and your chance for a promotion.
On the other hand, you can choose to always be comfortable and never grow. You can continue to choose to eat too much junk food and fail to exercise thereby becoming unhealthy and gaining weight. Or you can continue to spend every dollar you earn and risk always living paycheck to paycheck. But I know that is not you. You value your health and your wealth.
Continue to stretch yourself. Try new things. Take risks. Cancel any negative thoughts that come in your mind. Choose to focus on only empowering thoughts.
Action Item: This week, do one thing that is uncomfortable. Get out of your comfort zone. Choose to grow.
