The General Services Administration is looking for a new location that would function as a consolidated headquarters for the FBI.
Landowners in the District of Columbia and neighboring counties have been asked to submit proposals for the new site and GSA will accept submissions through Dec. 17.
“GSA seeks to identify sites that would be acceptable to include in a future competitive procurement that will provide the best deal for taxpayers,” GSA announced Friday.
The site selection process will include properties already in the federal government’s inventory, it added.
According to GSA, the bureau’s current location in the J. Edgar Hoover Building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington can no longer accommodate the headquarters’ operations.
