The General Services Administration is seeking information on new building technologies for a Public Buildings Service initiative aimed at building more environmentally-friendly federal buildings.
A GSA request for information posted Monday asks private businesses, educational institutions, non-profit organizations and other interested parties to submit building technologies data for the agency’s Green Proving Ground program.
Under that initiative, GSA aims to identify and assess emerging building technologies by using GSA’s real estate portfolio as a proving ground in an effort to reduce operational costs.
The GPG program is intended to follow President Barack Obama’s Climate Action Plan and to help GSA meet sustainability goals.
Building technology submissions can cover hardware and software, materials engineering processes, as well as resource management devices, methods, and models.
GSA is interested in measurement and validation technologies that have already passed laboratory or other proof-of-concept tests.
