Give Federal Employees a paid Holiday on November 27, 2015.
Federal employees have suffered years of little to no cost of living increases in their pay along with the strain of threatened shutdowns and the loss of pay during those times. Morale is at an all time low and a paid day off to spend with their families would go a long way towards making employees feel appreciated.
There is a petition on the We the People website asking the Obama Administration for a paid Holiday Friday November 27, 2015. Please take a moment to sign it if you are so inclined.
If the petition obtains 100,000 signatures in 30 days, there will be an official response from the White House.
There were 1,031 signatures as of November 17, 2015.

I support this because federal employees are often portrayed in a negative light, get pay freezes and non-existent COLA increases plus the strain of shutdown threats. The general public blames all government employees for the failures of Congress and this is a small way to thank federal employees for their hard work and dedication despite the struggles we face each day. A day off to spend with family would be a small boost to morale.
Please tell your fellow federal employees, your friends, your relatives, your alumni – whoever you know – to sign this petition. Options to share via Facebook and twitter are available on the petition website.
Thank you and I wish you all a wonderful holiday,
Kristy
