According to Government Executive, the federal government lost more than 10,000 jobs last month.
This downward spiral has been the case for the last two years. About 1,200 of the job losses were from my agency, USPS, because of attrition, while the rest of the combined federal agencies accounted for the rest.
What does this steady decline mean? No one knows for sure.
But there is one thing we do know.
More and more it seems that in order to survive in this economy, in order not to be right-sized or downsized, federal employees must continue to hone their skills in order to be prepared for what can happen.
