I thought the infographic below (and associated blog post) might be of interest to Govloop subscribers. We have created the infographic below for local government. Like many organisations across other industries, local governments have started to use social media cautiously in recent years.
Too often, local governments only consider social media as an outbound communication medium. Taking this approach means that local governments miss out on massive opportunities to engage all stakeholders, at all levels, across all their departments. This infographic aims to visually represent those opportunities. However, as with all social media initiatives there is no “one size fits all” approach. These examples draw on the experiences, initiatives, challenges and discussions we have had with councils we have worked with in Australia (City of Kingston, Yarra City Council, Brimbank City Council, Macedon Ranges Shire Council) and other best-practice examples that we have seen in Australia, the US and the UK.
You can download an A1 (poster size) version of the infographic at Local Gov2.0: How Councils Can Use Social Media where this blog post was originally posted.
