Why not an unlimited peak AND off-peak combined pass, a la what NYC’s MTA offers? A lot of people take both trains and buses to commute and the flexibility would likely offset the cost. (A 30-day unlimited MetroCard, for example, costs $104 and works on all NYC buses and subways; even a higher cost card that would work on DC’s Metro and DC/MD/VA buses — $150/month, say, would provide a savings to consumers who spend $200+ a month on commuting costs.)
