Here are today’s top tech news stories.

• Bitcoin, the underground currency of the Internet, is experiencing speculative growth – there have been a few things pushing up the value of the Bitcoin, including a drug purchasing version of eBay. There are now “High Yield Investment Programs” offering high rates of return, which may or may not be little more than pyramid schemes. Via The Verge, more here.

• Google Maps has increased transit stops worldwide – I love Google Maps, it is one of the best ways to get yourself around town and makes Android smartphones better than almost any GPS. Via TechCrunch, more here.
• Here’s a little insight on RIM’s BlackBerry 10 and their new smartphones – while I find it hard to believe that RIM has any chance in this market still, they do own a great deal of the federal government’s business (and might continue in the future). Via IntoMobile, more here.

• Judge Koh, presiding in Apple/Samsung, asks CEOs to sit down and make peace – As this case is drug out and continues to waste taxpayer dollars, Judge Koh has requested that Apple/Samsung make peace before Samsung’s full defense hits the stands. Via 9to5Mac, more here.
