JOB HUNTING HELP

Hi Everyone,

I’m a recently retired cop & I’m in search of my 2nd career in the Federal Gov’t. While I was poking around on the web for jobs & related Info. I found the website www.jobhuntersbible.com which is the website for the book by Richard Bolles, “What Color Is Your Parachute? 2009 – A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers“. This book was originally published in the 1970’s & has been updated regularly. I bought a copy & it has a lot of great, valuable information in it. I’m reading it while trying to apply it now also. If you are a student who will be trying to start your first career in the next 6-12 months or you are currently employed, but, concerned about your job &/or changing/losing it soon, then you should get this book, read it now to get this Info. in your brain & then you can start putting it to work if & when the time comes for you to seek employment in the future. If you have already been laid-off or retired, then you should get this book now & start putting this knowledge to work as soon as you can. If you go to the website www.JOBHUNTERSBIBLE.com you can click on the article archive link on the left side of the page under the “Find Jobs” search box & you will be able to read a lot of good information from the book that Dick Bolles had put in a newsletter or used for speeches. I know some people may think I’m nuts for telling people about this because it will increase competition against me. Hey, I’ve already survived my police career to get my 50% pension despite shift work, violent encounters & getting run down by a negligent driver. My daughters have their college education, I’ve earned my pension & we’ll probably be O.K., but, there are other people who are starting out, like my daughters, or who have kids & all the other stuff to deal with in life and they’re having a rough time because they’ve lost their jobs. Don’t forget folks, we are AMERICANS & as such we have a reputation for being smart, innovative, hard working, perseverant, independent, and despite our independent personality, we’re able to pull together in our diversity to accomplish amazing things! Remember Sept. 11, 2001 & many other serious incidents when people put aside the usual day-to-day differences to pursue a heroic endeavor? We Americans come from all over the globe, with every potential, with every ability, with every perspective & every reason to persevere & SUCCEED!! As U.S. President Lincoln, said, “America is mans last, best hope on Earth.” Our family, our country & the rest of the world need us to pull together & commit to doing the absolute best that we can to help everyone through this difficult period. We’ve done it before & we can do it again. Let’s do it. As they say in the military, “CAN I HAVE A BIG HOOAH?”
