Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 16, 2012, the Atlantic Council will host a discussion with pioneers in cyber law enforcement and crime prevention moderated by Jay Healey. ”Lessons from Our Cyber Past: The First Cyber Cops” should offer some fascinating insight and I’ll be in attendance, so stop by and say hello. It will run from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Atlantic Council, 1101 15th Street, NW, on 11th Floor in Washington, DC. To RSVP, email your name and affiliation to [email protected]. Here is some more information on the event and the speakers:
The Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative invites you to “Lessons from Our Cyber Past: The First Cyber Cops,” a discussion with Steven R. Chabinsky, Shawn Henry, and Christopher M. Painter on May 16.
Please join the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative for a workshop examining the history of cyber conflict through the lens of early cyber law enforcement, the next in a series of events to build a more cohesive history of cyber statecraft. This discussion will seek to answer the questions: what were the “wake up calls” in the field, how has cyber crime (and law enforcement responses to it) evolved over the years, and what lessons are there for today?
This is the second event in the Atlantic Council’s “Lessons from Our Cyber Past” series. The first event, “The First Cyber Military Units,” was held on March 5, 2012.
