Vendors should be aware that a massive, $750 million contracting opportunity was released by the state of Massachusetts this week. The state’s Network Services (ITT46) project has been tracked by Deltek since late 2010 – a request for information was released in August 2011, and a formal solicitation was released March 7, 2012.
The size and value of the solicitation is due largely to the consolidated nature of the services required. Contract ITT46 will replace four current statewide term contracts: Communication Network Services (ITT09), Centrex Services & Equipment (ITT18), Remote Access & Virtual Private Networking (ITT19) and Internet Hosting and Access Services (ITT37). Of course, the estimated $750 million value will not go to a single provider; it will be spread out across 31 different awarded vendors
