I am pleased to announce that the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) has officially begun. As you know, the CFC is our charitable giving drive in the federal workplace and, for the past nine years, HHS has been the top CFC account in the National Capital Area.
I am sure you realize that our contributions are needed now more than ever to support charities that are helping so many worthwhile causes and people in need. This is a difficult time for many families across the National Capital Area, around the country, and all over the world. I am proud of the work that HHS employees do every day to improve the health and welfare of our people – and the CFC gives us a chance to do even more.
I hope that HHS employees will again be among the most generous in the Washington region. Our goal this year is to raise $5 million in contributions from local HHS employees. I know we can step up to this challenge. Let’s build on last year’s enormous success and again lead in CFC giving. CFC charities are counting on your generosity, as am I.
We are extremely fortunate to live in this country and work on behalf of its citizens everyday. Thank you for all you do for the American people and for your generous contributions to the 2010 HHS Combined Federal Campaign.
Please visit the HHS Intranet for the 2010 campaign at http://intranet.hhs.gov/newsevents/cfc.html to find updates about various CFC activities around the Department as well as see our progress toward our goal of five million dollars.
