The Congress is gearing up to make major changes to the health care system in the US. Join us this Wednesday for a demonstration of an online tool developed by RAND for evaluating competing proposals.
May Monthly Program: Exploring Options for Health Reform
Wednesday, May 20, from 12 noon to 1pm
Elizabeth McGlynn, Ph.D., and Christine Eibner, Ph.D., will discuss their work in developing a new initiative at RAND for examining options for reforming health care in the United States. The RAND Health COMPARE (Comprehensive Assessment of Reform Efforts) initiative evaluates the effects of a wide variety of health policy options on cost, quality, and access. They will also present an analysis of the Baucus “Call to Action” white paper and describe how the microsimulation model developed by RAND can be used to help policymakers understand future proposals. Plans for expanding the capabilities of this model to include provider behavior will also be highlighted.
