The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (CA) could introduce all-door boarding for its buses as soon as next year. Although they did not vote, Muni’s directors supported the idea as a way to speed up bus operations. To ensure that people pay their fares, Muni will have to add fare inspectors and make it easier for customers to purchase passes and tickets. “What we don’t want to do as we work to speed the system is send the message that Muni is free now,” said executive director Ed Reiskin. “People need to have a full understanding that payment is required and a reasonable expectation.” Link to full story in San Francisco Chronicle.
