- For the nights we shared “out on the town:” Thank you.
- For the welcome you gave me in foreign lands: Thank you.
- For the fun we had on the range: Thank you.
- For the morning runs: Thank you.
- For the tips on shining shoes and creasing my clothes: Thank you.
- For making me the scariest thing I have to be afraid of in the dark: Thank you.
- For the mistakes you forgave: Thank you.
- For dropping me for 735 pushups in one drill session – breaking the hall record: Thank you
- For the times you picked me up: Thank you.
- For pushing: Thank you.
- For pulling: Thank you.
- For doing the right thing when you thought no one else was looking: Thank you.
- For convincing me that even I can cook better than that: Thank you.
- For the guidance you gave: Thank you.
- For holding me accountable: Thank you.
- For doing it all on little pay and even less sleep: Thank you.
I could go on, but none of us wants to read that much.
As we say goodbye to Veterans Day 2012, I salute you.
