The W. Edwards Deming Award is awarded annually to a government organization that demonstrates transformative training excellence and recognizes those who have pursued employee education initiatives that measurably improved the organization’s performance and impacted its mission. The award’s namesake is the renowned Dr. W. Edwards Deming, who taught at the School for 20 years. Dr. Deming is known as the father of Total Quality Management. His work has been described as the third stage of the Industrial Revolution and incorporated the idea that employees at all levels of private industry and government have a responsibility to cooperate to produce excellent products and services. |
