- President Obama urged lawmakers to pass the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 that would create a public-private partnership to set cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructure. More here.
- The U.S. Census Bureau plans to launch an economic statistics app for iPhone and Android devices and is streaming data through an application programming interface so others can create their own marketable statistical applications. More here.
- Federal law enforcement arrested a Russian man in Cyprus accused of launching distributed denial-of-service attacks against Amazon.com. More here.
- Senate Homeland Security Committee leaders Sens. Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins introduced a revised version of their cybersecurity bill with a number of bipartisan compromises. More here.
- The Government Accountability Office reports that amid efforts to consolidate data centers and, despite the September 2011 deadline, 21 out of 24 agencies still haven’t inventoried their data centers. More here.
