One Question Survey For Municipal and Local Government Employees and Public Officials

This is one question survey for municipal and local government employees and public officials. Its purpose is to dertermine where you stand on a very important issue. This survey is designed to address a “completely hypothetical situation” in which you would have to make a spilt second decision.

Remember your response should be honest and spontaneous.

THE SITUATION TO CONSIDER:

You and your family are on vacation in Hawaii. With little warning a major tsunami hits the island and there is chaos unfolding all around. The flooding you are witnessing is of biblical proportion.

Your family is safe as they are on the 8th floor of the hotel. However you are caught on the street in the midst of this once in a life time epic disaster. All around you houses, cars and debris are swirling and people are disappearing under the water.

THE DILEMA YOU HAVE:

In front of you is a man floating in the water; he is fighting for his life doing everything possibly not to be taken under the water or be hit by floating debries. The man looks vaguely familiar; suddenly you realize he is the most dysfunctional City Council Member on your City Council who also happens to be on vacation in Hawaii. The raging waters are now about to take him under. All you have with you is your brand new high quality digital recording camera.

TWO OPTIONS LIE BEFORE YOU:

1) You can save this city council member’s life

or

2) You can capture this display of Mother Nature’s destructive fury on your new digital recording camera which you can then share with other municipal and local governments so they know how to train their staffs so they can respond better to a crisis.
