Peer Review – just like with “closed source” text books. Considering the difficulties outlined in the article aboutgetting past this process to have a text approved for use in CA, it sounds like this challenge has an answer. It must be pointed out that the review process for supposedly “authoritative” works isn’t a guarantee either. Check out the latest scandal with a phony peer reviewed journal backed by big pharma. Given the potential to push agendas behind closed doors in the textbook review process, I’d much rather see the doors open to public scrutiny.
