The Hokies vs. ‘Hoos Food Fight capitalizes on the fierce rivalry between Richmond area Virginia Tech and UVA alumni and fans by encouraging donations to the Central Virginia Food Bank. Seven years of this heated competition have yielded more than 236,000 meals for the hungry in central Virginia, with the ‘Hoos holding a 4 – 3 edge over the Hokies.
Help us even out the score by supporting the 8th annual Hokies vs. ‘Hoos Food Fight this month in one or more of the following ways:
• Donate online at www.hokiesvshoos.com from now until Wednesday, February 29. We earn five points for each dollar donated.
• Donate non-perishable food items at Richmond area Martin’s Food Market stores between Monday, February 20 and Sunday, February 26. We earn one point for each item donated.
• Volunteer at the following events at the Central Virginia Food Bank:
o Backpack Packing on Wednesday, February 15, 5:30 – 7:30 PM. We earn 100 points per volunteer.
o Community Kitchen from 1 – 4 PM: Tuesday, February 14; Friday, February 17; Tuesday, February 21; Wednesday, February 22; and/or Thursday, February 23. We earn 150 points per volunteer.
