Preventing An “American Hiroshima”

The Department of Homeland Security and FBI recently issued a memo to its state and local law enforcement partners titled “No Specific Threat to American Jewish Community, Despite Recent World Events.”

The intelligence document said in part: “We have no specific information that Iran or its surrogates are targeting Jewish organizations, facilities, or personnel in the United States, but last year’s foiled plot to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador to the United States, and the fact that sanctions and the threat of military action against the Iranian nuclear program suggest tensions with Iran are likely to continue, we remain concerned Iran would consider attacks in the United States.”

In intelligence circles there is growing “chatter” that if Iran’s nuclear program is attacked they will attempt to strike the United States from within. Potentially using what analysts call an “off the shelf” terror attack, that Tehran’s diplomats acting as intelligence operatives in and effort to pick out potential targets within the US spies. They may have already developed a plan and are just waiting for the timing to be right.

Consider a potential scenario: Iran’s steady expansion into Latin America coupled with the robust human smuggling trade from Mexico across our unsecure southern border creates an ominous threat to the security of our nation. In his recent testimony before the U.S. Congressional Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael Braun, a former chief of operations for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), said that Hezbollah has developed strong and sophisticated relationships with Mexican drug cartels, making our southern border a significant corridor for assets hostile to America.”

Finally consider that many intelligence analysts believe that Iran and al-Qaeda’s core leadership may have established an “operational relationship,” and may be planning a “classic” al-Qaeda attack against the West. According to an book, written by Paul L. Williams, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) consultant titled: “The Al-Qaeda Connection: International Terrorism, Organized Crime and the Coming Apocalypse,” found in a captured al-Qaeda leaders documents, was a plan called the “American Hiroshima” which involves multiple detonations of nuclear weapons smuggled into the U.S. over the Mexican border. In his book, Mr. Williams reveals persuasive evidence that weapons of mass destruction and sleeper agents have already been smuggled across the Mexican border onto American soil, and is now in a position to execute Osama bin Laden’s dream of an American Hiroshima, an apocalyptic act of mass murder within the borders of the United States.
