Summer Restaurant Week in Dc runs through the weekend, so there is still time to make reservations.
One interesting part of this is we get to see what is “in” at all the trendy places. what the food fads are. One year watermelon gazpacho was “the” appetizer. Then there was the year when height on the plate was the thing; your entree looked like the chef was playing Jenga with your food. Then there was the “deconstructed” phase where a “burger” appeared as separate stacks of bread, meat, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and onion surrounded by artistic swirls of ketchup and mustard. It’s not a sandwich but a post-modern nightmare.
Nothing really weird yet this time, but I’ll let you know in my daily posts in the GovLoop group Gov Gourmet Drop by!.
