What can hornets teach us about solar power? Apparently a lot.
According to a recent Renewable Energy World article, researchers at Tel Aviv University have discovered that hornets use their shells for photosynthesis. That’s right, a hornet can create energy from the sun. So, what does that mean for renewable energy? Now the researchers are trying to mimic the hornet’s shell – specifically the yellow and brown parts – to build better solar panels.
