MY SUGGESTION TO OPM—The Federal government requires a personnel action (SF-50) to be submitted when one applies for a job announcement through a merit competitive process or internal job announcement. If you are a Federal employee, you are required to submit it with your resume and other required supporting documents, if applicable. The personnel action (SF-50) should be required for proof of the job series and the grade level once an applicant receives a job offer. SF-50 (Personnel Action) should be required to submit once applicant accepts the offer, not before or during application review or interviewing and selection process. Age discrimination in Federal employment and selection should be avoided or minimized at all costs! Selection should be based on the applicant’s work experience and qualifications, not on any other irrelevant factors.
