Hello Everyone,
It seems like everyone is talking about social media for recruiting, but is it really working? Tools like Facebook and LinkedIn are the big buzz, and while LinkedIn can be fruitful for recruiters, are gov’t recruiters having any success with Facebook or are you strictly using it as a branding tool?
I’d like to hear from the GovLoop community to find out what social media tools you guys are using to source candidate and identify passive candidates. I look forward to hearing from you.
Jay
Hi Jay – I have a slide deck with about 10 ideas for using social media for recruitment. My favorite example of using Facebook for recruitment is Facebook.com/teach.
Also, you may want to get engaged with the Federal Recruiters and Human Resources here on GovLoop – lots of people doing great stuff.
My sense would be that at least right now most gov’t recruiters are using social media mainly for branding. For most agencies, applicants still have to apply formally through USAJOBS so most other tools in a sense provide branding and awareness and then funnel through USAJOBS
