It’s Thanksgiving in the USA today.
So here’s something I’m thankful for.
Those of you who strive for competence, instead of just a title. Those of you who value real knowledge and wisdom, instead of a piece of paper.
I know you are someone who values competence and the ability to add real value, because otherwise I would have scared you off this website a long, long time ago.
Yes, I do help people learn about certifications if it makes sense for them, but you probably know I endorse striving for mastery in those endeavors. If you are just in it to get a piece of paper, you are not going to be much more valuable as a result, and you’ll contribute to the real problem that inspires comedy like this:

@Josh, The cartoon is a stitch and so true. I value competence and sincerity. People are ultimately exposed when they engage in something for the wrong reasons. Some people are content to play roles rather than make meaningful contributions.
