March 2nd is the deadline to submit research proposals to the IBM Center for The Business of Government. Coinciding with the inauguration of a new President, the financial crisis, stimulus bill and other new developments, we are particularly eager to receive proposals focusing on five cross-cutting management issues:
Contracting and acquisition
E-Government, Web 2.0 and cyber security
Finance, financial management and fiscal responsibility
Public service and the government workforce
Organizational transformation
The aim of the IBM Center is to produce reports with practical advice and insight for public sector executives and managers to improve the effectiveness of government. We look for reports with very practical findings and recommendations – not just theory or concepts – in order to assist executives and managers more effectively respond to mission and management challenges.
The guidelines for proposals and stipends are posted on our website here

I highly recommend this for GovLoop members. IBM Center does great work and publishes some great papers. Hopefully, some GovLoop members will apply and write one.
