Kansas Transportation Secretary Deb Miller used her first blog post on K-TOC to explain her no-earmarks policy.
I’m not competent to assess how innovative this is; maybe these days there are all sorts of state cabinet officials out there blogging the whys and wherefores of their policy thinking. But I’m thinking probably not.
There’s been considerable activity on K-TOC in the past week or so, a lot of gratifying participation from within the agency and without, but Secretary Miller’s blog seems to me to mark a milestone–another step, however small, toward practical, citizen-centered Government 2.0.
Patrick does Kansas have an official web page where “stimulus reporting” is being centralized? I’m thinking something long the lines of what Oklahoma is doing:

I spoke on Monday to a Wall Street Journal reporter researching state outreach efforts on the stimulus, and if I understood her correctly, not all states have provided dedicated stimulus webpages–but I suspect we’ll see more as the funds are allocated.
