The Luke Center Board of Directors is opening the application period for the 2013 Pacific Program. You can find the 2013 Pacific Program Brochure and Application on the Luke Center website under the Pacific Program tab.
The Pacific Program is an intensive 6-day program held at the Kah-Nee-ta Resort in Warm Springs, Oregon. The curriculum of the Pacific Program is designed to cultivate catalytic leadership across sectors in the Pacific Northwest, including state and local officials as well as non-profit and private sector leaders. Using the three basic tenets of Catalytic Leadership, participants will learn about:
- Leading from Personal Passion and Strength of Character – a passion for results, a sense of connectedness and relatedness, and exemplary personal integrity.
- Thinking and Acting Strategically – framing and reframing issues and their strategic responses, identifying and defining end outcomes or desired results, assessing stakeholder interests to discover common and complementary interests, and thinking systematically to reveal interconnections and strategic leverage points.
- Facilitating Productive Work Groups – generating fresh ideas and new insights, coping with conflict, getting unstuck and moving forward, and forging agreements
The cost has been lowered for the 2013 Pacific Program to $1,800 per participant plus lodging of $448. They have already received many inquiries, and expect the applicant pool to be very competitive again this year. A first round review of applications will be done for those received by 5/31/13. All applications are due no later than 6/30/13 to finalize the class and logistics with the facility.
