I am really interested in and excited by the list of things that he has done in his current position. Can you imagine what it would be like to have someone with this vision of transparency in the federal govt? Wow. Obviously, there are more federal databases that can’t be opened up for various reasons, but still… Wow.
Would this visionary have the power and authority to carry out transformation?
That is, of course, the million dollar question. I choose to be guardedly optimistic, and believe that if the prez elect is going to appoint a CTO, the CTO will have the authority to do his (or her, but the article makes it seem as though it will probably be a “his”) job.
